Artist's Statement
Being an artist is a way of life that brings me great joy. When I'm in my art studio creating, I immerse myself in the process of making art, and time flies.
As a painter, mixed media and collage artist, I paint with acrylic paint, often adding texture by using different kinds of papers, gels, mediums, a palette knife and brushes. I'm drawn to painting landscapes, other nature-related subjects, cityscapes and street scenes. I love using bold colors in my art work. I'm inspired by the mystery that exists in nature and in life itself.
As a clay artist, I create both functional and decorative pottery.
There is always self-discovery, growth, and unlimited reward with the creative process.
"Having spent many enjoyable years teaching ceramics and art to children, Rona now offers art and creativity workshops for adults in her Palo Alto, CA. studio and in the surrounding area. She teaches at University Art in Redwood City, CA., The Pacific Art League in Palo Alto, CA., and for Redwood City parks and recreation at the Red Morton center. It’s her greatest pleasure to assist others in discovering their creativity and joy through art."
