{"id":3346,"date":"2014-10-21T17:47:23","date_gmt":"2014-10-22T00:47:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bpapaloalto.org\/newbpa\/?p=3346"},"modified":"2014-10-21T17:47:23","modified_gmt":"2014-10-22T00:47:23","slug":"update-barron-park-bicycle-routes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bpapaloalto.org\/newbpa\/update-barron-park-bicycle-routes\/","title":{"rendered":"Update &#8211; Barron Park Bicycle Routes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: right;\">Posted by Art Liberman<\/p>\n<p>Some very dramatic changes are being proposed by\u00a0City of Palo Alto Transportation Division to the streetscape in Barron Park to improve safety and enhance the bicycling experience in our neighborhood.<\/p>\n<p>The proposed Barron Park Neighborhood Bicycle Routes project will provide Bike Route signage and Share the Road (Sharrow) roadway markings. The project will tie together the Matadero-Margarita Avenue and Maybell Bicycle Boulevard projects and support both commuter bicycle and student bicycle activities within and through the Barron Park Neighborhood.<\/p>\n<div>\n<div>\n<p>The proposals were shown to residents by the\u00a0 at a Community Meeting on Oct 16th at Barron Park School. You can download the presentation here:\u00a0 <a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/Barron-Park_101614-Community-Meeting.pdf\">Barron-Park_101614 Neighborhood Bicycle Routes Community Meeting<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The streets where improvement are proposed include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Barron Avenue: Laguna Avenue to El Camino Real<\/li>\n<li>Los Robles Avenue: Laguna Avenue to El Camino Real<\/li>\n<li>La Donna Avenue: Barron Avenue to Los Robles Avenue<\/li>\n<li>Amaranta Avenue: Los Robles Avenue to Maybell Avenue<\/li>\n<li>Laguna Avenue: Matadero Avenue to Los Robles Avenue<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The list of proposed improvements include:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Intersection Treatments<\/strong> &#8211; Including landscaped Traffic Circles at:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Cerrito Way and Los Robles<\/li>\n<li>Ilimia Court and Laguna Ave<\/li>\n<li>Amaranta Ave and Georgia Ave<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong> Traditional Bike Lanes<\/strong> on:<br \/>\n\u2022 Barron Avenue<br \/>\n\u2022 Amaranta Avenue<\/p>\n<p><strong>Green Backed Sharrows with Edgelines<\/strong> on:<br \/>\n\u2022 Josina Avenue<br \/>\n\u2022 La Donna Avenue<br \/>\n\u2022 Barron Avenue<br \/>\n\u2022 Laguna Avenue<br \/>\n\u2022 Los Robles Avenue<\/p>\n<p><strong>Advisory Bike Lanes<\/strong> (dotted white line or possibly textured pavement on shared shoulders) on:<br \/>\n\u2022 Josina Avenue<br \/>\n\u2022 La Donna Avenue<br \/>\n\u2022 Barron Avenue<br \/>\n\u2022 Amaranta Avenue<br \/>\n\u2022 Laguna Avenue<\/p>\n<p>On streets with bike lanes, residents will be required to park the cars off the roadway if the bike lane is on their side of the street.
