Party at the Bol Family Home<\/strong><\/p>\n About 25 or 30 people gathered at the historic Bol family home on Roble Ridge\u00a0 for a family gathering\/reunion on July 13,\u00a0 2025. At least 14 family members who\u00a0 attended carry the Bol family name.\u00a0 Spouses and a scattering of children and\u00a0 grandchildren accompanied them. The\u00a0 \u201cchildren\u201d at the party are\u00a0 greatgrandchildren of Cornelis and Josina\u00a0 Bol. The grandchildren are the Bols\u2019 great- great-grandchildren (fifth generation).\u00a0 They gathered from many places \u2013 one\u00a0 person from her home on Matadero Avenue\u00a0 in Barron Park, and quite a few\u00a0 from other Bay Area cities and towns.\u00a0 Gatherings have been held almost every\u00a0 year \u2013 many in Bol Park \u2013 since the first with 15 family members on August 28,\u00a0 1998.<\/p>\n James Witt Was the Host<\/strong><\/p>\n The 2025 party was hosted by James Witt\u00a0 who has owned the Bol property, which\u00a0 includes the current donkey pasture across\u00a0 Matadero Creek from the Bol cottage, since\u00a0 1998. The party was held outdoors near the\u00a0 Bol cottage, on the side where the land\u00a0 starts to slope down to Matadero Creek. It\u00a0 was a warm Sunday afternoon with bright\u00a0 sunshine and an occasional light breeze.
